These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Daily Mass Companion mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”) operated by Daily Mass Companion (“we”, “our”, or “us”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

2. Description of the Service

Daily Mass Companion provides Catholic daily scripture readings, reflections, audio, reading plans, and an AI-assisted chat feature for discussing scripture. The app is provided free of charge. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Services or their systems
  • Misuse the AI chat feature to generate harmful, abusive, or unlawful content
  • Copy, resell, or commercially exploit our content without permission

4. AI Chat Feature

The “Ask & Reflect” feature uses third-party AI services to generate responses. AI responses are provided for reflection and informational purposes only, may not always be accurate, and do not constitute official Church teaching, theological, legal, medical, or professional advice. Always consult appropriate authorities or clergy for authoritative guidance.

5. Intellectual Property

The Services, including their design, text, graphics, logos, and generated content, are owned by or licensed to Daily Mass Companion and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Scripture texts and liturgical readings remain the property of their respective rights holders. You are granted a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Services for personal, non-commercial devotional use.

6. Third-Party Services

The Services rely on third-party providers, including Amazon Web Services, OpenAI, ElevenLabs, PostHog, and Meta Platforms (for our Facebook and Instagram accounts). Your use of features that depend on these providers may also be subject to their terms and policies.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Daily Mass Companion shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Services.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will indicate changes by updating the “Last updated” date on this page. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
